Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They serve different purposes — some are essential for the site to work, while others help us understand how people use Bookort so we can improve it.

We also use similar technologies like local storage and session tokens for authentication.

Web vs. Mobile App: This Cookie Policy applies to Bookort's website (bookort.app). The Bookort mobile app does not use browser cookies. Instead, it uses device identifiers (Android ID, iOS Identifier for Vendor) for session management and fraud prevention. These are described in our Privacy Policy, Section 11.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you signed in to your Bookort account
  • Remember your sport and court preferences
  • Understand which features are being used and how
  • Improve the overall experience
We do not use cookies for advertising, ad targeting, or selling your data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Data Transfers

Using Bookort involves some data being sent to third-party services. We disclose these here in compliance with RA 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012).

Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com)
When you load any Bookort page, your browser requests fonts from Google's CDN. This sends your IP address to Google's servers in the United States. This is a disclosure requirement under RA 10173. We plan to self-host all fonts before our public launch to eliminate this third-party transfer entirely.

PostHog
Our analytics provider. PostHog processes usage data on servers in the US under a signed data processing agreement. We use PostHog in privacy mode — user IDs are anonymized by default.

Supabase
Our database infrastructure runs on Supabase's servers (US). Your data is stored and processed there under a DPA. Row-level security and field-level encryption are enabled.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can manage cookie preferences in two ways:

1. Cookie banner — when you first visit Bookort, a banner will let you accept or decline optional cookies. You can revisit your choice at any time from your account settings.

2. Browser settings — you can disable or clear cookies at any time:

  • Chrome Settings › Privacy and Security › Cookies
  • Firefox Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari Preferences › Privacy › Manage Website Data
  • Edge Settings › Cookies and Site Permissions
Note: Disabling strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and using core platform features.

6. Do Not Track

Bookort respects the Do Not Track (DNT) signal sent by your browser. When DNT is enabled, we automatically disable analytics cookies for your session.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or change the tools we use. We'll note the updated date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app banner.
